Have you ever participated in an experiential learning simulation, game, or activity and wondered what the point of it was? No lessons-learned, wrap up or closure, just a waste of your time?

Kolb (1984) says, “Learning is the process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience.” And in order to transform experiential learning experiences or activities into meaningful learning filled with “a-ha” moments, they need to be properly debriefed.

This highly interactive virtual training will provide an overview of what experiential learning and debriefing are, different debriefing frameworks, and effective debriefing strategies.

There will be a ‘meta’ aspect to the training, meaning that participants will take part in an activity and the subsequent debrief as participants, then they will analyze the experience they just had from a trainer’s perspective.

Master trainers from AFS Intercultural Programs will lead this highly interactive virtual training. Delivered on Zoom, participants will use audio and cameras while interacting with others in small groups. Come ready to participate and sharpen your understanding of debriefing!
