AFS Global You™ Adventurer Partial Scholarship Application

Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to offer select partial scholarships (worth USD $200 each) for our 100% virtual AFS Global You Adventurer program.

To apply, share how your community could be improved by embracing the power of diversity. If selected, you will receive a US$200 scholarship discount from the AFS Global You Adventurer tuition. To enroll and take advantage of the scholarship, you must pay a tuition contribution of US$115. See more details and FAQs below.

What partial scholarships are available?

Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to offer select partial scholarships to participate in the Global You Adventurer program. Each partial scholarship is worth US$200. Partial scholarship recipients must pay a tuition balance of US$115 in order to enroll in the program. Please note: Partial scholarship funds are not guaranteed. Scholarship award amounts are based on the funds available at the time of application.

What do I need to do to qualify for a partial scholarship?

To qualify, you must:

Be between 14 and 17 years old on the program start date (admission is permissible if the participant will turn 18 during the program).
Have proficiency in English (ability to read written content including videos subtitled in English, comment in forums, and understand the live sessions). Cohorts in Spanish (with forum and live discussions in Spanish) will also be offered periodically — see more here.
Access a computer, smartphone or other digital device with an integrated webcam and mic plus a stable internet (wifi) connection for taking part in the online live sessions and to access the GY Program content and forum.
Be available to participate in the AFS Global You Adventurer program for your desired dates.
Share in 1,000 characters or less how your community could be improved by embracing the power of diversity (using the application form provided to you).
Commit to share a follow up reflection with us in 1,000 characters or less after you complete the AFS Global You Adventurer program.

How are partial scholarships awarded?

Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and are awarded in order based on the applicants’ desired program start dates. Priority will be given to students from underrepresented backgrounds and communities. Selected partial scholarship awardees will be notified via email and will be provided with a secure payment link to complete the remaining $115 tuition payment.
